Location: Kerala A small state in the south west corner of India, Kerala is a land of rivers, backwaters and coconut palms. The official language is Malayalam, but English is widely spoken and understood. It has an equable subtropical climate - the months from September to February are very pleasant, with temperatures rarely exceeding 26°C - 28°C. The summer lasts from March to May, followed by the Monsoon months from June to August. Monsoon is the coolest period of the year, with an average temperature of 25°C. An intensely romantic season, there are short heavy bursts of rain followed by long spells of sunshine. The green gets greener and there are plaintive cries of the koel in the air. The clean and moist air helps to loosen the skin to enjoy the full benefit of Ayurvedic treatments. |
