gfh hf I'll be staying at home, but I've just come back from Varkala, Kerala, where I'd recommend anyone wanting a warm and civilised Christmas to go, at the Villa Jacaranda. Run by a couple of guys, who escaped the London rat race to build the villa, it's one of the best budget guesthouses I've ever stayed in. With only four rooms, it beats the hell out of most upscale hotels.
